Warm Bamboo Massage
Pressure Level : Moderate to Deep
What to expect
Bamboo massage is a technique that incorporates bamboo stalks of varying lengths and diameters to provide deep-tissue work. Massage increases the rate of blood flow and the delivery of oxygen to the tissues. This means that the oxygen rich blood needed to repair damaged and tense muscles is supplied and lasts for more than 72 hours post treatment. The warmth of the bamboo is a big factor in the effectiveness of this massage. The heat allows deeper tissue penetration, meaning the therapist can get to the toughest of knots. The bamboo canes are used in a roller-like fashion, stretching and elongating muscles to relieve all sorts of aches and pains. The ends of the larger canes are used to push pressure points and small on the soles of your feet which touches elements of reflexology.
Emotional healing
Deep tissue massage relieves tension in the muscles and fascia, potentially unlocking stored emotions. As the body relaxes and “lets go” physically, a corresponding emotional release can also occur. An emotional release varies from person to person. Some people may experience intense emotions along with tears, shaking, sobbing, or even laughter. Others might feel a profound sense of peace and calm wash over them. Whatever the case, this emotional response is natural (and nothing to be ashamed of). In fact, it’s a natural part of the body’s healing process.
Before Choosing
Effects of Bamboo Massage provide all the benefits of regular massage, but the heat, pressures and manipulations with the canes will enhance all of them. It is also said to work 10 times deeper than a standard massage without using more pressure. It is not advisable to have another treatment of any kind within three days, to allow your body a chance to recover. As we are working with heat there is a greater chance of erythema after the treatment, and because muscle fascia have been stretched, experience of soreness of the muscles (not dissimilar to that after a gym workout). There are several possible contra-actions as with any massage that you should be aware of and possible side effects:
● Emotional outbursts • Headache and nausea • Faintness/dizziness • Excessive erythema/Sensitivity • Bruising
